Shorter UV light may be just as effective at halting corneal disease
NCT ID NCT07124910
First seen Feb 02, 2026 · Last updated May 07, 2026 · Updated 15 times
Summary
This study tests a treatment called corneal crosslinking (CXL) for people with keratoconus and similar conditions that cause the cornea to thin and bulge, blurring vision. CXL uses vitamin B2 eye drops and UV light to strengthen the cornea and stop the disease from getting worse. The study compares two different UV light exposure times (18 minutes vs 24 minutes) to see if the shorter time works just as well. About 485 participants aged 8 and older will be followed for 6 months.
