New pill tested to tame painful swallowing disorder

Summary

This study is testing whether a daily pill called vonoprazan can help adults with eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE), a condition that causes painful swallowing and inflammation in the food pipe. Researchers will compare the pill to a placebo (inactive pill) over 12 weeks to see if it reduces inflammation and improves swallowing symptoms. The goal is to see if this medication can help control the disease.
