Searching for environmental clues to a rare, incurable lung disease

NCT ID NCT07172334

Summary

This study aims to understand if environmental and occupational exposures play a role in causing pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH), a rare and currently incurable disease. Researchers will compare 150 newly diagnosed patients with PAH to patients with a different form of lung pressure disease (CTEPH) by measuring 180 different toxins in their hair and urine and asking about their lifestyle and work history. The goal is to identify potential environmental triggers that might contribute to the development of PAH.
