Teeth may hold clues to Crohn's disease triggers

NCT ID NCT03706196

First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This small study looked at teeth from 14 adults living in areas with either high or low rates of Crohn's disease. Researchers measured metals and other environmental chemicals in the teeth to see if differences might help explain why some areas have more Crohn's disease. The goal was to gather clues, not to test a treatment.
