Could everyday chemicals cause undescended testicles in newborns?

NCT ID NCT04342026

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 31 times

Summary

This study investigates if parents' exposure to certain chemicals (endocrine disruptors) is linked to cryptorchidism, a condition where a baby boy's testicles don't descend properly. Researchers will compare the jobs and exposures of parents of affected and unaffected boys. The goal is to find environmental risk factors, not to test a treatment.
