Extra groceries and a friendly chat: can enhanced meals on wheels fight loneliness and improve health for seniors?

NCT ID NCT06401694

Summary

This study is testing whether adding community health worker visits and healthy grocery bags to the standard Meals on Wheels delivery improves the health and well-being of older adults. It will involve about 1,640 seniors in Rhode Island who are at high nutritional risk. Researchers will compare the enhanced service to the standard program to see if it better improves diet quality, reduces food insecurity and loneliness, and boosts overall quality of life.
