Extra groceries and friendly visits: can they fight loneliness and poor nutrition in seniors?
NCT ID NCT06401694
Summary
This study is testing whether adding community health worker visits and supplemental grocery bags to a standard home-delivered meal service improves health and well-being for older adults. Researchers will compare the enhanced service to the standard meal delivery alone in about 1,640 Rhode Island seniors at high nutritional risk. The goal is to see if the extra support leads to better diet quality, less food insecurity, reduced loneliness, and an improved quality of life.
