First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study enrolls 100 adults who have or may have Factor V Leiden or Prothrombin G20210A mutations, which increase the risk of blood clots. Participants undergo genetic testing to confirm their status, then attend a site visit for basic health checks like blood pressure, ECG, and blood tests. The goal is to establish a health baseline and familiarize participants with the clinical trial environment, so they can join future studies. The study lasts about 10 weeks and includes 1-2 visits and a follow-up call.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
What this could lead to
If successful, this study could help prepare participants for future clinical trials aimed at preventing blood clots in people with these genetic mutations.
What could go wrong
This is an early engagement study, not a treatment trial. It does not test any new therapy, so there is no direct health benefit for participants.
