App-Based acupressure aims to ease cancer fatigue

NCT ID NCT06754722

First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether a mobile app called EnergyPoints can help cancer survivors reduce fatigue and improve sleep by guiding them through self-acupressure. About 180 adults who have or had cancer and feel at least moderately tired will use the app daily for six weeks while wearing a Fitbit to track activity and sleep. Half will start right away, and half will wait six weeks before starting, so researchers can compare results. The study is done entirely from home.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only โ€” not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
self-acupressure guided by a mobile app
What this could lead to
If it works, this could offer a simple, drug-free way for cancer survivors to manage fatigue and sleep problems at home.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage trial with no comparison to a proven treatment. The app may not work better than rest or other self-care, and there is a small risk of bruising from pressure points.
