First seen Apr 30, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study looks at how to better measure the energy needs of 187 critically ill patients in the ICU. Researchers will use a special device called indirect calorimetry to see how many calories each patient actually burns. The goal is to compare these measurements with standard formulas to help guide more accurate nutritional support.
