New stitch procedure offers hope for obese teens without major surgery

NCT ID NCT06914765

Summary

This small pilot study is testing whether a less invasive procedure to reduce stomach size is safe and effective for weight loss in adolescents with obesity. Up to 10 teens will have the endoscopic procedure, which uses a scope instead of surgery, and will be closely monitored for side effects and weight changes. The goal is to see if this approach can help control weight and improve related health problems like diabetes and high blood pressure over the long term.
