Scarless surgery for wrist pain? study compares recovery times

NCT ID NCT07364604

Summary

This study compared two common surgical techniques for carpal tunnel syndrome to see which helps patients recover faster. Researchers followed 113 adults for two weeks after their surgery, tracking their pain levels, hand function, and when they could return to work. The goal was to find out if the newer, less invasive 'endoscopic' method leads to less pain and quicker recovery than the traditional 'open' surgery in the first critical days.
