Doctors test Camera-Guided repair for dangerous esophageal tears

NCT ID NCT04571541

Summary

This study looked at how well different 'through-the-mouth' repair methods work for holes or tears in the esophagus (the swallowing tube). Doctors at a major hospital compared techniques like placing temporary stents (tubes) and using special sutures (stitches) delivered with a camera. The goal was to see which methods best helped these serious injuries heal without needing major surgery.
