Hospital program aims to fight the hidden toll of heart infection treatment
NCT ID NCT06563609
Summary
This study tested whether a personalized program of physical therapy and nutritional support during a long hospital stay for a serious heart infection (endocarditis) could improve patients' mental health and reduce treatment side effects. It compared this combined approach to standard hospital care. The program also tested if a probiotic supplement could help prevent diarrhea caused by strong antibiotics.
