First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 17 times

Summary

This study looked at whether electrical muscle stimulation (EMS) combined with stretching can reduce pain in adults with myofascial pain syndrome, a condition that causes muscle knots and discomfort. 65 working adults received several treatments in one visit, including EMS with stretching and pressure release. Researchers measured pain levels, pressure sensitivity, and muscle activity before and after treatment to see which approach worked best.
