Zap your workout: does electrical muscle stimulation make exercise feel easier?

NCT ID NCT07394595

Summary

This study aims to understand how adding electrical muscle stimulation (EMS) to cycling affects how hard exercise feels and people's energy levels. Researchers will compare arm cycling to leg cycling in 120 healthy, active young adults to see if EMS changes perceptions of effort. The goal is to gather information that could help design better exercise programs, especially for rehabilitation or varied training routines.
