Two-Hour zoom class aims to ease cancer pain
NCT ID NCT07578376
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests a single, 2-hour online pain management class called Empowered Relief for cancer survivors who have chronic pain. About 215 participants will be randomly assigned to take the class right away or wait 3 months. Researchers will measure pain intensity, how much pain interferes with daily life, and overall satisfaction with the class.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Empowered Relief course (a 2-hour skills-based pain management class delivered via Zoom)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could offer cancer survivors a simple, drug-free way to better manage chronic pain and reduce its impact on daily life.
What could go wrong
This is an early feasibility study with a waitlist control, not a direct comparison to other treatments. The class is only 2 hours, so long-term benefits are uncertain.
