Heart drug trial aims to boost tiny vessel blood flow

NCT ID NCT05152888

First seen Nov 06, 2025 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 33 times

Summary

This study tests whether a powerful cholesterol-lowering drug (evolocumab) can improve blood flow in the small vessels of the heart in people with stable coronary artery disease. About 50 participants will receive the drug for 12 months and have heart scans before and after to measure changes. A separate group of 15 people will not receive the drug but will have the same scans for comparison. The goal is to see if lowering cholesterol further can help the heart's tiny blood vessels work better.
