NCT ID NCT05381649
First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 21 times
Summary
This study looked at how empathy works in people with borderline personality disorder (BPD). Researchers used a computer test and questionnaires to measure two types of empathy: understanding others' thoughts and feeling others' emotions. About 30 participants were followed for 2 years to see if empathy changes with the severity of BPD. The goal was to learn more about the condition, not to test a treatment.
