Generic diabetes pill matches brand in body absorption test

NCT ID NCT07479108

First seen Mar 21, 2026 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 9 times

Summary

This study tested whether a generic version of empagliflozin (25 mg) works the same as the brand-name drug Jardiance® in 32 healthy adults. Participants took a single dose of each tablet under fasting conditions, and researchers measured drug levels in the blood to check for bioequivalence. The goal was to confirm the generic is a suitable alternative, not to treat any disease.
