New talk therapy shows promise for reducing debilitating migraines

NCT ID NCT05837650

Summary

This small pilot study tested whether Emotional Awareness and Expression Therapy (EAET) could help reduce migraine frequency and severity. Thirty adults with migraines were randomly assigned to either receive 8 weeks of online group therapy sessions or wait for treatment. Researchers measured changes in migraine days, pain sensitivity, and quality of life to see if this emotional-focused approach could provide relief where other treatments may fall short.
