Scientists probe the emotional world of intellectual disability
NCT ID NCT06894264
Summary
This research aims to understand how people with intellectual disability (ID) process emotions compared to people with autism and typically developing individuals. It will also test a 24-week therapy program adapted from Dialectical Behavior Therapy to help people with ID better manage their emotions. The goal is to gather knowledge to improve support and potentially reduce the need for medications to manage challenging behaviors.
