Tracking opioid overdoses in ERs to save lives

NCT ID NCT07466784

Summary

This study aims to understand and improve how emergency rooms across Canada care for people who have overdosed on opioids like fentanyl. Researchers will create a national registry by tracking the treatment and outcomes of 7,200 patients who come to the ER with an opioid overdose. The goal is to identify the best practices and create a tool to predict which patients are at the highest risk of dying, so doctors can prioritize life-saving care.
