Doctors map danger zones in neck to prevent bleeding during emergency breathing procedures

NCT ID NCT06637319

Summary

This study aims to understand where major blood vessels are located in the neck to make emergency airway procedures safer. Researchers used ultrasound scans on 50 healthy adults to map blood vessels in the area where doctors might need to make an emergency incision to help someone breathe. The goal is to reduce bleeding risks during these rare but critical life-saving procedures.
