Quick brain scan could spot hidden seizures in kids

NCT ID NCT05418634

Summary

This study tested a simplified, portable brain-wave monitor (point-of-care EEG) for use in pediatric emergency departments. It aimed to see if this quicker test could help doctors detect non-convulsive seizures in children with unexplained confusion or impaired consciousness. Researchers also compared the results from this portable device to the standard, more complex EEG test.
