New tool aims to help emergency doctors have tough talks about End-of-Life wishes
NCT ID NCT03833622
Summary
This study is creating and testing a decision aid tool to help emergency room doctors have better conversations with older patients about their end-of-life care preferences. Researchers are working with 230 patients aged 60+ who are at high risk for serious illness, along with their doctors, to develop and refine the tool. The goal is to make these important discussions about treatment goals more patient-centered and effective in the fast-paced emergency setting.
