First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 12, 2026 · Updated 25 times
Summary
This study tested a way to quickly cool down trauma patients whose hearts stopped from severe bleeding. The idea was to preserve the body long enough for surgeons to stop the bleeding, then slowly rewarm the patient using a heart-lung machine. The study involved 20 people and aimed to see if they could survive without major brain damage. However, the study was stopped early.
