New therapy trial aims to heal trauma for parents of NICU babies

NCT ID NCT07471321

Summary

This study is testing if a therapy called EMDR can help reduce symptoms of post-traumatic stress in parents after their baby is born and needs intensive care. 80 parents with PTSD symptoms will be randomly assigned to receive the therapy right away or after a waiting period. The main goal is to see if adding EMDR to usual care leads to a greater reduction in trauma symptoms compared to usual care alone.
