Hockey Players' knee pain linked to weaker legs, study finds

NCT ID NCT07356596

First seen Jan 22, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 17 times

Summary

This study looked at 28 elite male ice hockey players to see if those with patellar tendinopathy (knee tendon pain) have weaker legs or less explosive power. Players were grouped by ultrasound findings into healthy, one-knee, or both-knee tendon issues. They did leg strength tests on a robotic device and a 6-second all-out cycling test. The goal was to understand how the condition affects performance, not to test a treatment.
