New math formula could make lithium blood tests easier for bipolar patients
NCT ID NCT07306039
First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 29 times
Summary
This study tests a new method called eLi12 that estimates lithium levels in the blood even when the blood test isn't taken exactly 12 hours after the last dose. Researchers want to see if 200 adults with bipolar disorder can accurately record when they took their lithium, and whether eLi12 gives more consistent results than standard tests. The goal is to make lithium monitoring more flexible and convenient for patients and doctors.
