First seen Feb 01, 2026 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 11 times

Summary

This study tested a non-invasive breath analyzer called the Aeonose to see if it could tell whether a person had been fasting or not. Researchers collected breath samples from 879 adults before and after routine endoscopy. The goal was to see if the device's pattern recognition could accurately distinguish fasting from non-fasting states using exhaled compounds.
