Zap to stop Post-Surgery confusion? ancient needle technique tested in modern hospitals
NCT ID NCT06564506
Summary
This study aims to see if a form of acupuncture with mild electrical stimulation can prevent post-surgery delirium—a sudden state of confusion—in older adults getting knee replacements. Researchers will compare the treatment to standard care across multiple hospitals with 1,460 participants. The goal is to find a safe, non-drug method to help patients stay mentally clear after their operation.
