Zapping the brain with needles: can ancient practice fix stroke memory loss?

NCT ID NCT07423715

Summary

This study is testing whether electroacupuncture (a combination of acupuncture with mild electrical stimulation) can help improve thinking and memory in people who have cognitive problems after a stroke. About 110 participants will be randomly assigned to receive either real electroacupuncture or a fake version, along with their standard medical care, over 6 months. Researchers will use memory tests and brain scans to see if the treatment works and how it might affect the brain.
