Summary

This study tested whether electroacupuncture (a mild electrical current applied to acupuncture needles) could safely help cancer patients who get constipation from their opioid pain medicine. Researchers enrolled 92 adults with stable cancer and this specific type of constipation. They compared the effects of electroacupuncture to see if it improved bowel movements and quality of life.
