Zapping back to strength: can electricity rebuild paralyzed muscles?
NCT ID NCT02265042
Summary
This study tested whether daily electrical stimulation could help rebuild muscle and improve sitting comfort for people with long-term spinal cord injuries. Thirty participants used a stimulator on their buttock muscles for 35 minutes daily over six months. Researchers measured changes in muscle size and how body pressure was distributed while sitting to see if the treatment helped.
