Summary

This study tested whether daily electrical stimulation of the buttock muscles for 35 minutes over six months could increase muscle size and improve pressure distribution while sitting in people with chronic spinal cord injury. Thirty participants with long-term spinal cord injury took part. The goal was to see if this simple, non-invasive approach could reduce the risk of pressure sores and improve quality of life.
