Zapping wounds: can electricity speed healing and lift spirits?

NCT ID NCT07493889

Summary

This small, completed pilot study tested whether adding electrical stimulation to standard wound care helps heal stubborn pressure wounds. It involved 20 adults with spinal cord or brain injuries whose wounds hadn't improved after a month of regular care. The study measured changes in wound size and severity, as well as patients' anxiety, depression, and quality of life over six weeks.
