Zapping back pain: new electrical treatment trial seeks relief for nerve pain sufferers

NCT ID NCT07046143

Summary

This study is testing whether a noninvasive electrical stimulation device placed on the skin near the spine can reduce chronic nerve pain in the lower back. About 62 patients will be randomly assigned to receive either the real stimulation or a placebo (fake) treatment during their hospital stay, with follow-up for three months. Researchers will measure changes in pain levels, sleep, mood, and overall quality of life to see if the treatment helps.
