Zap to ease the pain: electrical pads tested for ALS jaw discomfort

NCT ID NCT07187388

Summary

This study is testing whether a single 30-minute session of gentle electrical stimulation on the face can help reduce jaw pain and improve chewing and mouth movement for people with ALS or PLS. Ten participants will have the treatment in a clinic and report their pain and ability to perform oral hygiene tasks before, after, and one day later. The goal is to see if this non-invasive method can ease specific symptoms and improve quality of life.
