Zapping the eye to fight glaucoma blindness

NCT ID NCT06682962

Summary

This study is testing whether a weekly, 30-minute electrical stimulation treatment for the eye can help slow the progression of vision loss in people with open-angle glaucoma. Fifty participants will be randomly assigned to receive either the real stimulation or a sham (fake) treatment for 18 months, while continuing their standard pressure-lowering eye drops. The main goal is to see if the treatment safely helps preserve the visual field compared to the sham.
