Finger-Prick vs. Arm-Stick: which blood test works better for seniors?

NCT ID NCT02614573

Summary

This study aimed to see if a simple finger-prick blood test for monitoring blood thinners in elderly nursing home residents would lead doctors to make the same treatment decisions as the standard, more invasive arm-stick test. Researchers observed 31 residents over six months. The goal was to gather information on whether the simpler test could be a reliable alternative.
