Doctors test High-Tech imaging to Fine-Tune baby ventilators

NCT ID NCT07319624

Summary

This study tested whether a special imaging technique called Electrical Impedance Tomography (EIT) could be used safely to help doctors choose the best pressure settings on breathing machines for infants and toddlers under 3 years old. Researchers enrolled 14 critically ill children who needed a ventilator. They compared pressure settings chosen by the EIT method against standard methods to see if the new approach was practical and safe.
