First seen Nov 17, 2025 · Last updated May 07, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This study tested a new way to monitor lung function in 120 critically ill patients with ARDS (a severe lung condition). Researchers used a special imaging technique called electrical impedance tomography (EIT) to see how different ventilator pressure settings affected lung opening and closing. The goal was to identify which patients would benefit from higher pressure and which might be at risk, helping doctors personalize ventilator care and reduce lung injury.
