Scientists hunt for genetic clues behind mysterious connective tissue disorder

NCT ID NCT03093493

Summary

This study aimed to better understand the genetic causes of Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS), a condition that affects connective tissues. Researchers collected blood and saliva samples from 334 people, including patients with EDS and their relatives, to compare their DNA and look for specific genetic variations. The study also tested whether saliva could be used instead of blood for this type of genetic testing, which would be easier for patients, especially children.
