Can a simple blood test replace tissue biopsies for lung cancer gene testing?
NCT ID NCT03265496
First seen Mar 24, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 6 times
Summary
This study looked at 21 adults with advanced lung cancer to see if a blood test (liquid biopsy) could detect EGFR gene mutations as accurately as a standard tumor tissue biopsy. The goal was to find a less invasive way to guide treatment decisions. The study was terminated early, so results are limited.
