Why do sleep apnea patients skip CPAP? new study investigates Decision-Making
NCT ID NCT04557293
First seen Nov 18, 2025 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 21 times
Summary
This study looks at why people with obstructive sleep apnea often struggle to stick with CPAP therapy, the standard treatment. Researchers will test 64 adults to see if their decision-making style—specifically how much effort they're willing to put in for a reward—predicts poor CPAP use. The goal is to understand the root cause of low adherence, not to test a new treatment.
