New blood filter aims to curb organ failure in pancreatitis patients

Summary

This study tests a device called Efferon LPS that filters harmful substances from the blood of people with severe acute pancreatitis. The goal is to see if adding this filter to standard care reduces organ failure and improves survival. About 150 adults with moderate to severe pancreatitis will take part, and the treatment starts within 24 hours of entering the ICU.
