First seen Feb 04, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 11 times

Summary

This study looks at whether the position you are in when you get a nerve block for chest surgery changes how well it works. 90 adults having video-assisted chest surgery will be randomly placed in either a sitting or lying-on-the-side position for the block. Researchers will measure how far the numbness spreads and how much pain medicine is needed after surgery.
