Brain wave study aims to make anesthesia safer and more precise

NCT ID NCT07410702

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looks at brain wave patterns in 250 adults during anesthesia to find better ways to measure how deep their unconsciousness is. Current monitors don't work well with all anesthetics, so researchers hope to create a more reliable system. Participants will have their brain activity recorded while receiving different anesthetic drugs, and the data will be used to train a computer model to recognize states of consciousness.
