First seen Apr 12, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 7 times

Summary

This study looks at why some children become confused and agitated after waking up from anesthesia (emergence delirium). Researchers will monitor brain waves (EEG) in 400 children under 16 having elective surgery to see if they can predict this reaction. The goal is to better understand the condition and find ways to prevent it.
