Brain scans may help preemies breathe safely without caffeine

NCT ID NCT07324941

Summary

This study aims to see if a brain wave scan (EEG) can help doctors decide the safest time to stop caffeine therapy in premature babies. Researchers will observe 100 infants in the NICU to see if babies whose caffeine is stopped based on their EEG results have fewer breathing pauses afterward. The goal is to gather information that might lead to better, personalized timing for stopping this common treatment.
